TPS659037 PMIC for AM5728 each revision

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS659037, AM5728

Hi,

I have one question for TPS659037 PMIC.

My customer uses TPS659037 PMIC with AM5728.

As you know, PMIC for AM5728 rev2.0 is required bigger boot voltage than AM5728 rev1.1. PM. When processor bootig, VD_MPU is 1.15V for Rev2.0.  But, for Rev1.1, VD_MPU is 1.1V.  This change can be done by OTP program.

So I think PMIC for Rev2.0 and PMIC for Rev1.1 are same. Users do not change their board design and firmware when they change the PMIC from  rev1.1 PMIC to rev2.0 PMIC. Is my understanding right?

If there is something that user should be care, please let me know about it.

I appreciate your quick reply.

Best regards,

Michi

  • Hello Michi,

The PMIC for Rev1.1 and Rev2.0 is not necessarily the same because as you mentioned the OTP should be different. If your customer is using TPS6590376 or TPS6590377, they are both compatible with Rev1.1 and Rev 2.0 since it has the 1.15V boot voltage. But you are right that there is no board design change relating to the PMIC between the two revisions.
