We have used the AM335X device (AM335xBZCZD) in a design , the device is powered by a separate power chip TPS65217B. The situation is that: when in my design a problem occurs in the power which is unrelated to the AM335x. such as VCC 3V3 or 5V did not supply the power for the AM335X. but When there is a short-circuit or incorrect-operation on VCC 3V3 or 5V, and even the operation did not involve the AM335x directly or indirectly (in addition to GND),so that may result the I / O power supply of AM335X to short-circuit!
when the situation is produced, only the AM335X have been damaged.
If there is no other power problem , the whole design can complete the functional performance test, and the operation is reliable and stable.
How is this situation produced? Is it due to the GND conduction caused AM335X chip damage? How can I solve it? Looking forward to reply. Thank you
