Hello all,

i am Ethan Kim from TI Korea and support MM customer as FAE

We got issue of TPS65910 filtering capacitor value.

the history of in AM335X's reference, value of TPS65910 vref filtering capacitor C98 should be 0.01uF as mandatory.

but in TPS65910's datasheet, still 0.1uF

which is correct?

Hi Ethan,

The datasheet is correct, 100nF is the nominal recommended output capacitor for the VREF LDO.

What document states that 0.01uF is mandatory?

Hi Ethan,

The TPS65910 was designed and characterized with a 100nF capacitor on VREF, so that is still the recommended nominal value for new designs.

I'm not sure why they changed the output cap value in that design, but they started with the nominal value of 100nF and adjusted from there. If you are going to re-use their design files, including layout, you can likely just use their value as it has already been evaluated.
