Hi Team,

My customer would like to use TPS65916 with AM5728.
In case the internal DSP core isn't used, can TPS65916 be used as AM5728's PMIC?
I know the number of output power rail is different; however, DSP core isn't used.

So If it is possible to use TPS65916, please tell me how to use it with AM5728.

Hello Sho,

TPS65916 is not a supported power solution of the AM5728 processor. Currently only TPS659037 is supported per section 8.1 of the AM5728 datasheet.

Hi Sho Ogane,

Karl is correct the TPS65916 is not a supported power solution of the AM5728 processor. The TPS65916 is a lower cost solution for the AM571x. You can refer to the AM572x/Am571x compatibility guide for more information.

I understood the TPS65916 is not a supported power of the AM5728.
I will check the file you attached.

Sorry, one more question.
When designing power lines with discrete, is there a recommended devices and configuration supporting AM5728's power supply?

Hi Sho,

TPS659037 is currently the only recommended and supported power solution. There are two configurations of TPS659037 to support AM5728, and they're described in the TPS659037 User's Guide. This includes a system block diagram, default PMIC configuration, and power-up and power-down sequencing.
