TPS65217: Setting NTC type for temperature sensing (possible documentation mistake)

Part Number: TPS65217

Dear all,

Reading  tps65217 rev. G, datasheet I saw some incongruence. In p. 31 says

"The device can be configured to support a 100k NTC (B = 3960) by setting the NTC_TYPE bit in register CHGCONFIG1 to 1."

Whereas in p. 46 it says that to set 100k NTC you need to clear the NTC_TYPE bit in register CHGCONFIG1 to 1.

NTC TYPE (for battery temperature measurement)

 0 – 100k (curve 1, B = 3960)

 1 – 10k  (curve 2, B = 3480) (default on reset)

I think the correct is the second, but could you confirm please?

  • I can confirm your understanding:

Page 46 is accurate because the Reset value for this bit is '1' and is shown the same way in both Figure 29 and Table 5.

    Therefore, page 31 should read:

"The device can be configured to support a 100-kΩ NTC (B = 3960) by setting the the NTC_TYPE bit in register CHGCONFIG1 to 0."
