TPS65217: About PB_IN

Part Number: TPS65217

Hello team,

I am supporting an applications using the TPS65217A and there are a couple of questions about the PB_IN pin.

  1. Can holding the PB_IN pin down for 8 seconds allow the PMIC to recover from a fault condition?
  2. In the datasheet it seems that PB_IN is pulled up to ‘Always-On' supply? Can you please let me know which rail is this one?

Is it pulled-up to the AC voltage or the SYS voltage?

  • Hi Victor,

Holding PB_IN low for more than 8s should have the same effect as pulling nRESET low, both of which should reset the part. They also both use the same internal pull-up source.

The always on supply is slightly different from SYS, as SYS can be disabled, whereas the internal domain cannot. The pull-up source seems to be related to INT_LDO, but tracks a rising input supply before INT_LDO is actually enabled.

    Best Regards,
    Rick S.
