TPS65217: TPS65217D Power Issue on DCDC1 for DDR3L Memory

Part Number: TPS65217

Hello All,

We have a design in production (battery powered) with AM335x and TPS65217D as the PMIC. We are seeing DDR3L component failures in a few units which have already passed testing. One of the observation we had was before it fails, DDR3 chip is getting hot and its power supply shows 2.9V where actually we should see only 1.35V. This PMIC is supposed to be designed for DDR3L (1.35V) and we are not changing the voltage by changing the register settings.

Unfortunately I was not able to take the I2C register dump while it happened. Also modifying this register accidentally is also not possible since the register is password protected.

Can any one throw some light into this?

Thanks,

Paul
