TPS659037: PMIC pull up voltage

Part Number: TPS659037
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM5728,

Hi,

I want to design custom board base on Xilinx Kintex-7 and TI AM5728. I chose TPS6590379 I want to work with this part automatically. so I need to set BOOT pins and also POWER ON and POWER DOWN and etc.

As I saw in design guide "TI recommends placing a pad for a 0-Ω resistor from each BOOT pin to both GND and LDOVRTC_OUT."

and in "TPS659037 User's Guide to Power AM572x and AM571x" document in "Sequence Platform Settings" section mentioned "Outputs that are not included in these diagrams remain off by default."

LDOVRTC_OUT output is not in these diagram so it is off. question is how we can set BOOT pins and etc with LDOVRTC_OUT when it is off?

best regards,

Siyavash

  • Hi Siyavash,

The LDOVRTC is an always-on rail that has a fixed 1.8V output which is not affected by part number specific settings. As a result it is not shown in the platform specific user's guide. Section 5.3.2.2.2 LDOVRTC in the datasheet has more information on this.
