TPS65910: About output state at sleep state

Part Number: TPS65910

Hello,

Regarding to sleep state on TPS65910AA1, my customer is asking a question.

(Question)

How state is the output at the sleep state?

(output voltage(Hi-z? low? High?), output current?)

They couldn’t find out that on datasheet and application note.

Regards,

  • Hi Tao,

By default, the regulators will go into a low power mode (low current capability) when the sleep state is asserted.

Regulators can maintain full power mode if they are configured in the SLEEP_KEEP_LDO_ON_REG, and SLEEP_KEEP_RES_ON_REG registers.

The description in the SLEEP_KEEP_LDO_ON_REG describe how this register will behave differently if using the EN1/2 pins to toggle between full and low power modes.

Regulators can be disabled in sleep mode using the registers SLEEP_SET_LDO_OFF_REG and SLEEP_SET_RES_OFF_REG.

The LDOs do not have active discharge, so for off state they should be high Z. It is not clear if the DCDCs have active discharge in sleep mode.

    Best Regards,
    Rick S.
