TPS650830: System provide voltage to VR5 output unexpectedly

Hi,

When VR5 is disabled (ENVR5 is driven low), if the system unexpectedly provide a 4.57V on VR5 output, will it cause any power fault for TPS650830? Or anything else will happen?

Hi Antony, Eric,

Since the power rail's possible emergency power shutdown conditions are: "Powergood Fault (OVP, UVP): Vout ≤ 90% or Vout ≥ 110% for ≥ 30 μs"; so, if it stays constantly at 4.57V, then it should be fine without shutdown; but it's not designed for, fix of the unexpected issue must be done ASAP.

Hi Phil,
Will it cause any impact if there is a abnormal voltage level about 4.57v at both VR5 & FBVR5P node when ENVR5 is low in G3 mode?

Hi Wright,

There is no impact to the PMIC device itself; but may have impact to the system especially to the processor. Please debug the cause of the abnormal voltage to make the system working in specified environment.
