PMIC TPS65910A31 RTC on backup voltage

sandeep if you have option i would recommend using external LDO to PWR the RTC of processor.

Reason is depending on the inrush current the device can have some issues. I have seen case where people add more then reqired cap on the board and inrush increases and device did not power up .

so i recommend to used external LDO .

Do we need to add an extra circuit for battery back up for this external LDO in this case ?

I guess its fine to use TPS65910A31 with external LDO as we have already procured this PMIC part. Will TPS65910A31and TPS65910A3 will make any difference if we go with external LDO ?

Is it possible to set VRTC_REG.VRTC_OFFMASK to 0 in TPS65910A31 similar to TPS65910A3 ?

one better option is to use the RTC in the PMIC, it will do the same function as the RTC in processor with much less power consumption and you dont have to connect anything to FTC on processor . Just conect the backuppin with coin cell battery .
