Gandhar, Thanks for the reply. I am reading the following register values from TPS65951 when USB is plugged in. No writes to these registers have been done yet. BCC_CTRL = 0x04 BCC_CTRL2 = 0x01 BCC_STS = 0x27 USB_CHRG_CTRL1 = 0x60 USB_CHRG_CTRL2 = 0x00 I observe the following...

Hi, Is there any reference driver available for TPS65951 on Linux? We are considering using this PMIC to replace TPS65950 on DM37x EVM. I saw there are quite a bit of registers difference btw TPS65950 vs 65851. Are there any sample driver for TPS65951? Thanks for any info.

Gandhar, My question is does SWCA090 replace or is in lieu of a unique TRM? Is there a full TRM similar to SWCA050g ?

Jason, You can find the detection status in the BCC_STS bit 1:0 USB100 means that D+/D- are not shorted USB500 means that D+/D- are shorted http://www.ti.com/litv/pdf/swca090 Regards, Alexis

It seems that no matter how I play with these registers I always read the BCC_STS status of 0x27, meaning that the USB_DET_STS charger detect bits are set to “undefined”. From the datasheet section 8.3.1 page 147 (as shown in below email) it states that “To function, the USB charger...

It's true, battery must be present to perform USB charger detection. BATTERY_PRESENCE cannot be asserted by sofwtare, a resistor must be connected between ADCIN0 and ground. Resistor value must be lower than 130Kohms Regards, Alexis

Looking at the manual for both the TPS65951 and TPS65921 it looks like the device will only detect 100mA and 500mA chargers not 1000mA or 1500mA chargers. What will happen when we try to draw 1073mA from a 500mA charger?

We are occasionally running into a problem on our boards where the TPS65951 will not respond to a power button press even though the battery has a full charge (greater than 4.0V). We have seen this happen several times on boards that have had their batteries removed and replaced, though we do not have...

Hello, We are using TPS65951 with an AM3703 SoC in our design. At the first time when the board gets power, during running the u-boot the VDD1 voltage is set to 1.35V. Currently we’re using TI’s DM3730CBP100 and the TPS65930A2ZCH, along with Micron’s MT29C4G48MAZAPAKQ-5 IT PoP memory. The CBP package of the DM3730 is a 0.4mm pitch part which causes the board design to be rather complex and expensive. Also, the TPS65930 doesn’t have enough output...

Hi, We have the following questions regarding TPS65951: 1) How can we set the battery voltage threshold for the PMIC to power on the OMAP? The datasheet for the TSP65951 in table 6-24 talks about "main battery charged threshold" (VMBCH) which is fixed at 3.1V. Not sure if this is...
