I would like to build a product which interfaces to a USB OTG host and can provide both a periphal and charging through the OTG host uAB connector without having to disconnect the peripheral and connect the charger. It appears that the ACA architecture can provide such a solution. The periphal has a USB PHY and controller. The peripheral does not need to charge, but the OTG host does.
Can anyone provide some guidance as to what is available to solve this issue- I haven't seen any solutions for an ACA either in chip, module, or product form. Ideally I'd like to find either a specific single chip solution or a set of IC's which can provide all the electronics I need for the ACA.
I don't have to have an ACA architecture, it just seems to be the most natural solution based on the specs.
The ACA "device" seems to be what you desire, it is intended to plug into the wall and allow charging of an OTG host while also allowing data transfer to the peripheral. I am not aware of any TI solutions that go into an ACA, but if there is anything it is most likely in the Power management product space.
Thanks Dan... the TUSB1211 seems to indicate that it has ACA/Charger support, but it is not clear how I would configure a system with this PHY and additional external components... anyone at TI have a solution for me?
