We have an urgent question for the TPS2553 Power Switch.
We would like to operate two of these devices in parallel and we want confirmation that there will be no timing issues involved with this.
Our load on these USB outputs is a hard drive which can exhibit surge currents of greater than 900 mA; we plan to operate these parallel deviceswith individual current limits off 500 mA each to operate these drives.
Is there any issue with operating these devices in parallel? If not, could you please give some specific recommendations and details of the device's operation?
"We would like to operate two of these devices in parallel ... "
Same input source and same load? If so, why not a higher current single switch instead of two lower current switches in parallel? If we have mis-interpreted your query, please send a good block diagram of what you are attempting to do.
