TPS2384 behavior with low supply voltage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2384

Hi,

I am currently using TPS2384 in my design. There is a feature that allows the 48V VR to be disabled when PoE is not used on the platform. The 48V is generated via a simple non-isolated boost converter. Due to the VR topology, when the latter is disabled, the 48V rail is at the same level as the input voltage (ranging from 9-36V). Thus, in that mode, the TPS2384 supply voltage is the input voltage. I know that 9-36V is an invalid supply voltage for the PSE manager. My question is: do I need to worry about any misbehavior from the TPS2384 when it is supplied with 9-36VDC or is it correct to apply that voltage range? Of course, when the 48V supply is disabled the PSE manager is also disabled via the proper pin.

Thank you.
Regards,

Cedrick
