LM5060-Q1 / GATE pin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5060-Q1
Hi Team,

LM5060-Q1 datasheet shows "Operating Ratings" of VIN is up to 65V.
However, I think GATE pin could be up to 79V (=65V+14V) under VIN=65V condition because of VGATE spec and it exceeds ABS MAX of GATE pin(75V).
Is it possible to operate LM5060-Q1 under VIN=65V?

Best Regards,
Yaita
  • Kenji-San,

    Please note that if VIN = 65 V the max VGATE will be 65 V + 14 V ( VGATE_MAX) for a total of 79 V.

If the GATE pin ESD device was at an extreme lower limit and clamping at 75 V then the ESD structure would have to conduct 24 uA nominal, 31 uA max. This, though not ideal and reducing VGS to 10 V, should not be a problem.

Is it really the intent to operate at 65 V ? Or is that just a transient condition ?

  • Hi Kensuke-san,

Please see the abs max listed below:
