Hi, I am building a USB charger based power supply. I am including OTG negotiation and Battery Charging Detection (BCD) to negotiate. I have looked through various switches with BCD capability from TI, Fairchild, and various others. It seems that most component designs do not keep the D+ and D- pins oriented toward the USB connector layout. I am confused as to why this is OK given so many application notes about routing the traces with careful impedance. Most TI and other brand switches need to cross over D+ and D- and in some cases need to cross over again after leaving the switch to realign with the uc after the switch. I have found only a few that do not require crossing D+ and D- across half a dozen brands and dozens of implementations and packaging. Am I missing something?
