LM9061-Q1 In case of unusing Overcurrent Protection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM9061-Q1, LM9061, LM5060-Q1

Hi

My customer is using LM9061-Q1.
He doesn't want to use Overcurrent Protection.
Is LM9061-Q1 able to be unused Overcurrent Protection?
If it is possible, Could you let me know how to terminal pin chamfering of "Pin 2, 6, 1, 8"?

Thanks,
Shimizu

  • Hi Shimizu,

We are currently tracking down someone to help you with this question.

I do not support the LM9061, but do support some of our newer hot swap devices.

Please take a look at www.ti.com/hotswap to see our latest products, tools, and app-notes.

If a Q1 device is needed, the LM5060-Q1 may be a good choice and you can tie the SENSE pin to the OUT pin (through a 1k resistor) to disable overcurrent protection.

  • Hi Alex

     Thank you for your information.

My customer will use this device as high side gate driver for 3 phase motor.

In this case, customer does not want to use Current Limit  function of this device.

    Thanks

  • Hi Shimizu,
I suggest you size Rthreshold and Cdelay to large values such that the current protection will not trip.

If you need the large current drive to turn on the FET fast, then I suggest LM9061-Q1. If you don't need the large gate drive required to turn on high power FETs, then I suggest LM5060-Q1 as Alex mentioned.
