TPS2553 reverse-voltage protection

HI,

Could any one help for this question?

We has tested the reverse-voltage protection function last week, and found out that:

  1. When they power on the 2553 first(Vin=5.1V) and put a voltage(5.5V) form another power supply which is 135mV higher than Vin on the Vout, the reverse-voltage protection don’t work and the fault pin keep to be high. This seems not right for them, they hope us could explain it for them.
  2. When they put the 5.5V on Vout first and power up the 2553 with 5.1V(Vin), the reverse-voltage protection function works well, and the fault pin turn be low. This seems right for them.

Does any one know whether this is normal? And why?
