TPS23751 working principle

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS23751, TPS23752, PMP8812

hi

Could you please someone explains briefly of how this chip  TPS23751  works ? I want to connect Auxiliary :24V DC and type 2 PoE cable together (Auxiliary has the highest priority) to give Output:12v / 2 A. I want to isolate the output circuit completely  from input circuit .

thank you

  • Taher,

The TPS23751 is a PoE PD controller with integrated PWM controller. For aux applications, I recommend reading the Advanced ORing app note in the TPS23751's technical documents section of its product page.

I also recommend looking at PMP8812. This uses the TPS23752 but you can switch to TPS23751 without changing the converter design. This should meet your power requirements above.
  • Thanks for your kind answer.
I wonder if there is a simulation tool to make sure that it is working properly and check the signals times and values of volt/A .
    Regards...
  • Hi Taher,

Unfortunately, we do no have a simulation tool or software for this IC. While the simulation and calculation can get us close to a solution, our reference designs are bench tested, optimized, and proven designs. It's test report in the PMP8812's product page shows its performance.
