Questions for LM74610-Q1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM74610-Q1

I have questions for LM74610-Q1.

1. In the datasheet, there is "Meets Automotive ISO7637 Transient.

What is this means? Did you do the tests for all conditions?

2. I think you did the tests for ISO7637. What did you use FET for ISO/EMI?

3. I think FET can not continue "ON" because FET for this IC is N-ch. Is it correct?

4. What is the current we should consider for the current consumption for this IC?

(ex; IGATE up, IGATE dwon, IGATE pull down and so on)

Best regards,

Atsushi Yamauchi

  • Hi Atsushi,

I have contacted the team of engineers who support this device and they will assist with answering your questions above.

    Thanks!

  • Dear Alex-san,

    How about is this question?

    I dont't get response it.

COuld you please help to get the reply?

    Best regards,

    Atsushi Yamauchi

  • Hi Yamauchi-san,

Thank you for letting us know these questions have not been addressed. I have contacted the team who supports this device so they can assist.

In the meantime, TI Designs has several examples of automotive reference designs with the LM74610-Q1 on the front end.

For example, I tracked down this one in particular which may help address your open questions:

    Thank you for your patience.

    Thanks!

  • Yamauchi-san,

    1. In the datasheet, there is "Meets Automotive ISO7637 Transient.

What is this means? Did you do the tests for all conditions?

Yes the test were done for all conditions, TVS diodes were used as shown in the datasheet such that the abs max ratings were not violated for the LM74610 when the ISO tests were done.

    2. I think you did the tests for ISO7637. What did you use FET for ISO/EMI?

The fet used was SQJ422EP same as that on the EVM. The test results would not change if any fet that meets the recommendation guidelines in datasheet is selected.

    3. I think FET can not continue "ON" because FET for this IC is N-ch. Is it correct?

There is a charge pump. You are right, the fet turns off for around 25ms once every 2.5s to refresh the charge pump. However due to the direction of the body diode the output is still on.

    4. What is the current we should consider for the current consumption for this IC?

(ex; IGATE up, IGATE dwon, IGATE pull down and so on)

There is no ground pin. So the current is zero to ground.
