TPS2373: Usage as a LTPOE++ PD

Hello fellows engineers,

I am evaluating TPS2373-4 for a new PD.

According to the datasheet, the chip complies to both 802.3bt standard and Linear LTPOE++. Yet I was not able to understand if the chip automagically recognizes the PSE type, or if there is some configuration to perform on the hardware.

Please excuse me if the question is stupid. I am just starting with POE.

    Hi Giubas,

    Soryy for the late reply. This is a good question since it becomes more complicated after Type3 and Type 4  being added to the new standard.  Please check table 2 in the TPS2373-4 datasheet and TPH,TPL, BT pins' status should tell you the Type of the PSE. Thanks.
