Request solution for Power pass through Cat5e PoE

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00465, TPS23861, TPS23753AEVM-001

Im looking to find a suitable TI product that will help me with my below detailed application.
I'm developing a repeater type of equipment on ethernet (100mbps) that will sit between a PoE enabled Switch and a PoE device, both of which are standard equipment in their respective category. However I need to extract power for my HW from the PoE from the Switch, and a method to inject it on the output of my HW to enable the PoE device connected to draw it's power. I understand that a straight forward method would be to use a PoE PD module at the input and a Power injector module at the output. Im looking to see if there's a more efficient way to allow power for both devices (amount of combined power will be within the 15w limits) without using a delivery module and an injector module separately. Does TI recommend any such solution?  Attached image which gives details of the requirements.

Thanks,

  • Hi Ganesh,

Are you looking to be IEEE802.3 compliant on both the input and output? If so, then yes you will need to do as you suggested a PD at the input and PSE like the TPS23861 in TIDA-00465 (or injector) at the output to connect to the other compliant Box B.

On the PD side design, I recommend looking at the TPS23753AEVM-001.

    Thanks!
