TPS2384: AC_LO of TPS2384

Part Number: TPS2384

 Hi,

I am designing PSE device using TPS2384 rev 001 and found Errata SLUZ014.

The doc shows a workaround which AC_LO must be connected to ALTA/B.

Can I use AC_LO for AC disconnection with this workaround ?

Or is this workaround only for DC disconnection ?

 Regards,

 Hiroto

  • Hi Hiroto,

What kind of application you are designing with TPS2384? what features will you need? AC disconnect? Alternative B? Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Penny

  • Hi Penny san,

My design is Alternative B and capable for AC disconnection.
I want to offer both AC and DC disconnection capability to my customer.
I just wonder AC disconnection still can be used even if AC_LO is connected to ALTA/B as Errata.

    Regards

  • Hi Hiroto ,

I am checking with our designers and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks.

  • Hi Hiroto,

Sorry for the late reply. I checked with our designer and here's our feedback.

The problem described in the Errata only exist in Auto mode, but the AC disconnect can only be performed in power management mode with firmware control. so in summary, if you want to implement AC disconnect, you have to configure TPS2384 to power management mode which doesn't have the issue, so you don't need to implement the workaround. Thanks.

    Best regards,
