Hello team,
Could you support TPS2373 PD classification CLSA/CLSB acceptable resistance range?
Hello Koji,
In the datasheet for TPS2373, see table 1, "Class Resistor Selection" on page 16 for the acceptable resistance ranges.
If you need anything else, let me know. I'd be happy to answer any questions.
Thanks,
Thomas A.
Hello Thomas-san,
Thank you for your quick response. I think that Table1 shows TYP value of CLSA/CLSB resister. How many percentage can TPS2373 accept for each resister? E.g. 1210ohm +/?% can be acceptable?
Thanks,
Koji Ikeda
Hello Thomas-san,
Thank you very much for your support. I understand that TI recommend 1% resister.
During clasification, 2.5V apply to CLSA/CLSB resister, and I_CLS current flow same current as the current on CLSA or CLSB resister? Datasheet page 6 ICLS spec includes any variation like regulated 2.5V output variation? Is my understanding correct?
Could you share clasification current limit on PSE side? If I_CLS copy the current on CLSA/B resister, I think that this information on PSE side is needed, to consider CLSA/B resister acceptable range.
Hi Koji-san,
Please see the below table defined in the IEEE standard. The resistance of class resistor depends on what voltage regulator is used in PD. For example, TPS2373 uses 2.5V voltage regulator. You can decide the resistance based on the class current and voltage regulator on the PD side. Thanks.
Best regards,
Penny
