TPS23861: How to increase Increase Inrush current

TPS23861, Seting ICUT = 645mA，When PD connect PSE and Normally Power ON, Re-Plug PD when PD current current increase to 425mA, TPS23861 couldn't supply PD and TOS23861 show Over load protection. In application, It will result couldn't supply 30W PD equipment, So we want increase Inrush current to increase Start power to meet more PD equipments.

Hi Wentao,

TPS23861 can not adjust inrush current. When you re-plug PD, if the inrush current is larger than inrush limit, the PSE will shut down the port after TSTART delay. So you should also check the PD inrush current setting. Generally during inrush period the current is limited by PD side which has a FET inside controlling the inrush current smaller than 400mA.

I would like to suggest that you'd better check from PD side about the PD inrush limit.

HI Wentao,

Our type 2 PDs (30W) & above have fixed inrush currents. Unfortunately, it cannot be increased.
