TPS23861: 4-pairs using TPS23861 Single-port.

Dear Sir,

We are developing PSE to support PD IEEE802.3af (15.4W). Normally, our PD <10W.
We would like to check. Can we use TPS23861 single port to develop 4-pairs in parallel ?

Hi CCphi,

Would you please clarify that you will use two channels of PSE to implement 4-pair in one port (RJ45)?
Or you just use one PSE channel to implement 4 pair in one port (RJ45)?
If possible, please share with us a block diagram to make it more clear.

Thank you for your reply. We will use one PSE channel to implement 4 pairs in one port(RJ45). Something similar as following.

Can we implement this with TPS23861 ? Please advise. Thank you. ***Our PD < 10W.

Hi CCphi,

Technically it can work but it is not compliant to standard. For PD<10W you don't need to use 4 pair actually.

Can I know why you would like to use 4 pair?
