I'd like to use TPS22907 as an inrush-limiting switch (basic hot-swap controller) for a pluggable module. The DC load is about 0.5A at 3.3V so the rated 1A is a good fit, and the package size is extremely compelling.
However I can't tell how much load capacitance is too much. I'd like to put 0.1uF directly on Vin and maybe ~60uF on Vout, and pull EN high with a resistor. I don't really care how long Vout takes to slew to 3.3V - the slower the better, really, because I have a reset-generating UVLO on the load (microcontroller) and as this is a pluggable module this is effectively a one-time surge. I can add a Schottky from Vout to Vin to offload the body diode when the host supply powers down. The host will supply 22uF to Vin, but it will be through a connector and trace so there is some inductance to consider.
Are there going to be strange effects with this kind of load? like the logic controlling the gate bias will brown out, stutter the gate and cause additional noise? My desire is that the FET takes all the voltage delta, charges the load capacitance with the kind of di/dt I see in the datasheet, after which there will be a second or more before the load rises to its 500mA operating point so any surge-related VI can be dissipated.
