    Larissa Swanland Larissa Swanland
Hello, I was hoping that somebody could help discuss the differences between the TPS2540 and the TPS2541. Looking through the datasheet, there isn't an apparent difference that jumps out at me. If a board is layed out for the TPS2540, would we be able to use the TPS2541 for supply line issues...

On CDP mode, althought IPAD can show charge with data from PC.But IPAD can't indicate charge ,which is unable to meet customer application needs. For the TPS2540 specification, has following narrative: A CDP is a USB port that follows USB 2.0 BC1.2 and supplies a minimum of 1.5 A per port. ...

Can the TPS2540/0A/1/1A family support 2A charging (for Apple devices) using the auto-detect feature? The family has an adjustable current limit up to 2.8A. Any other devices with auto-detect to consider?

  • Forum Post: TPS2540 to convert Standard Downstream Port (USB 2.0) (SDP) to Charging Downstream Port (CDP) current problem

    Stefan Norberg Stefan Norberg
Basically I want to offload the current load from a PC's USB-port and instead feed it via the TPS2540 whilst keeping an active USB-data-connection. I believe that the way to do that is by using the TPS2540 to convert the PC's SDP to a CDP with an external power supply. The reason is that...

IThe TPS2540 data sheet specifies Rds(on) as having a maximum value of 120 mohms. I am seeing considerably higher values .38V @ 1.44 Amps, or 260 mohms. The conditions are Vin=5.0 volts, ILIM0= hi Z, ILIM1=24.9K, ILIM_SEL+Vin. The highest case temperature I am measuring is about 80-82C. I am measuring...
