Please let me know 3-points below about CDS75207.

 ------------------------------------------

・It is written to the datasheet as "Continuous Drain to Drain Current:3.9A".

Is 3.9A Current Value of Total Which two "Drain" Pins? (1.95A/FET)

Or is one FET the spec of 3.9A?

・About Figure2 of a datasheet. The current will also become large if the voltage of "Drain1 and Drain2" becomes large.

Is it that current flows into "Drain1 to Drain2", or "Drain2 to Drain1" according to the voltage difference of "Drain1 to Drain2"?

・Isn't usage which 2-FET controls scattering carried out to Common Source?

 ------------------------------------------

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • Satoshi,

The 3.9 A is specified with both devices conducting in series so that 3.9 A is flowing through both devices. However,

this is an electromigration limitation on the device balls, such that I do not believe it would change if current was only flowing through one device.

In figure 2, a 5V drain to drain voltage bias is applied to the FET as both gate voltages are tied together and increased. Because the device is symmetrical, it is arbitrary which direction the current flows (drain 1 to drain 2 or drain 2 to drain 1).

Not sure I understand your last question. The common source could allow for both devices to conduct in parallel as opposed to in series?

  • Dear Brett Barr-san

    Thank you for the reply.

Sorry, please let me also know the following by addition.

    -----------------------

CSD75207W15 datasheet is written to "Drain1 to Drain2 Voltage" by figure-2.

In contrast,CSD75208W1015 datasheet is written to "Drain to Source Voltage" by figure-2.

Please let me know about this difference.

・Is it a clerical error of CSD75207W15 datasheet?

・When it is not a clerical error of CSD75207W15, what is the difference from CSD75208W1015?

    In addition.

・CSD75208W1015 is not separately controll, isn't it?

・Although CSD75207W15 is Common Source, what is the reason Gate Pin is not Common?

(I thought whether the Common of Gate would be more convenient)

    -----------------------

    Best regards,

    Satoshi

  • Satoshi-san,

The CSD75207W15 only specifies Drain to Drain resistance in the datasheet. The CSD75208W1015 specifies both Drain to Drain and Drain to Source on resistance, so we have provided an on resistance curve for both of these.

There is no clerical error. Just more information appears in the CSD75208W1015 datasheet.

Both of these parts have individual gates that can be driven separately for both FET. Both parts are common source. The only difference between these parts is their performance and size.

You can always tie the gates together in your application to drive both on at the same time.
