CSD95378BQ5M--different usage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD16570Q5B

Will be using the CSD95378

This is a output stage for a switching power stage.   It has an H Bridge on the output side that can drive a lot of current.

It would drive a step up transformer that would drive the current through the loop.  I am 100% sure this is not what it was designed for.  Can you find someone in the TI world that can discuss this design and the limitation of the part.  Basically I want to switch 12v and 3 amps at 8 Khz and drive a several mH inductive load  (varies as the length of the loop) on the other side of my transformer.

 thanks!

  • Hmm. Not sure who might be able to help you out here. If you give me your region, maybe I can point you in the direction of a local FAE.

  • Hi Amy,

Can you provide more information about what they are trying to accoomplish? They want to use this part, make an H-Bridge that feeds the transformer and the transformer will drive an inductor?

    What controller are they using?

What is the input and output? Max voltages and current

In the meantime, I'll work on finding the right person for you.

    Thank you,

    Trenton Reed

  • The CSD95378B5QM is a Smart Power Stage.
It takes a single PWM input, so you can't control the high and low fet individually.
In an Hbridge setup you want to be able to PWM both the high and low fet individually.

All of our FET Power Modules are for synchronous buck applications.
    Thus the single PWM input.

The setup like this picture below is what needs to be done.
    This is an Hbridge configuration.
The UCC driver could control CSD16570Q5B, 4 of them, for an example.

If your scheme is similar to this there are many possibilities.
But our FET modules will not work for this method.
