CSD18533Q5A and CSD16415Q5 alternative?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD18533Q5A, LM25118, CSD16415Q5

Hi, we are a couple of students designing a power for our ECU project.

We've made a design in webench using the LM25118 Buck/Boost controller, which implements both the CSD18533Q5A N-ch MOSFET and the CSD16415Q5 N-ch MOSFET in it's design.

We are favourising packages that allows rework, and the question is therefore, how can we replace the MOSFETs and still be confident that the circuit will maintain a similar regulation?

Is there a reason for why the MOSFETs are different, could they both be equal to the Buck MOSFET?

Thanks in advance,

Jannik Schäffer.

  • Jannik,
It depends what you want to replace the MOSFETs with. All of our Q5A parts are pin to pin compatible, so you should have no problem swapping those in or out.

Whey those particular FETs were recommended depends on your design conditions. One is a 60V and one is a 25V, so it probably came down to your input voltage and how much voltage each FET can handle.
