CSD19535KTT: CSD19535KTT Temperature Rating

Part Number: CSD19535KTT

Hi E2E,

My customer would like to know if a CSD19535KTT at 85C can survive transients of 113V.

The datasheet has absolute max rating of 100V but I wanted to double check.

Thanks,

-Sam

  • Sam,

It is true that the breakdown will be slightly higher at 85deg - breakdown voltage increases with temperature. However, we're only talking a volt or two, over 60 degrees, not 13V.

Basically, we would still say you should never operate over the abs max on the datasheet (100V). If this is a single avalanche event, whether or not the FET will survive depends on the amount of energy absorbed during the transient spike. But repetitive avalanche is never something we recommend subjecting the part to in application.

  • Brett,

Thank you for this information. Fascinating stuff!
