CSD95472Q5MC: Searching for basic application information about the CSD95472, ex. what is the gain or relation between the IOUT current sense signal and the current through the IC?

Part Number: CSD95472Q5MC

Hello.

I am trying to implement a synchronous buck-converter using a CSD95472 but the datasheet contains extremely little information(I am not going to use one of TI's Multiphase Controllers), it has the pin layout with pin description as well as the basic absolute maximum ratings and such but nothing else.

The first issue I have is this:

How am I supposed to utilize the integrated current sensing when all I know is that the IOUT pin function is "Output of current sensing amplifier. V(IOUT) – V(REFIN) is proportional to the phase current."

and that the REFIN pin function is "External reference voltage input for current sensing amplifier"?

Am I missing something here?

or where do I find the information about these "Synchronous Buck NexFET ™ Smart Power Stage" IC's to be able to implement a design with them?

Regards

  • David,
There is more information available for this part but generally requires an NDA at the very least. As such, I would recommend contacting your local sales rep and working through them to get in contact with the experts on this part.
  • Ah I see, I did open the datasheet for the controller that is shown connected to CSD95472 in it's datasheet and there where only 1 single page with 3 rows of text saying that I need to enter some sort of deal with Intel to get any information about that IC and that is is designed especially for Intel processors(the controller not CSD95472 but it sounds reasonable that is is something similar).

Thank you for enlightening me about this.
