I’m very sorry I thought I had replied to this a few days ago. Looks like my reply did not go through.

We clamp the recommended pulsed current of all of our TO-220 devices to 400A (hence the SOA in Figure 10) because that is the maximum current we can test at. Hence, we really can’t make any guarantees above 400A, but there is also nothing that would necessarily cause the device to fail in this region as well.

Thanks for your advice. Means that 500A-600A for <10us should be fine although it is not stated in datasheet?

I really can't say. You will have to test parts on your board but we cannot make any guarantees.
