CSD19534Q5A: Rating of parasitic diode forward current

Part Number: CSD19534Q5A

Hi,

Can we know the rating of parasitic diode current (Is) of CSD19534Q5A?

Best regards,

Hiroaki

  • Hiroaki,
From a package capability standpoint, the forward current of the diode is the same as the drain to source package current. In other words, the lead frame and wires can handle the same 50A regardless of which direction the current is flowing.

However, from a thermal standpoint, the DC current will be limited by how much power you thermal environment allows you to dissipate. In other words, 150 (max temp) - Ta (ambient temp) / RthJA (junction to ambient thermal impedance specific to your board) will give you the max power the device can dissipate. Then, the max current the device can handle will be given by I = Pmax / Vf where V is the forward body diode voltage drop (VSD). Note that VSD changes based on junction temperature and current, as shown in Figure 9 of the datasheet, so you need to determine where on this curve you would achieve the Pmax.

Thank you for your kind answer.
    I understood.
