Are regulators "PTx" suitable for a product to be certified according to the NEBS requirement? any reference of NEBS certified design including PTx?
The Power modules including PTN series have not been certified to the NEBS requirements.
Tom
Let me explain in other words: we currently produce and deliver to USA a communication product that was certified NEBS level 3 for years.
Recently, due to lack of availability of the previous PT series (e.g. PT6643E and many companions), and upon distributor's advise, we made a mid-life update and replaced all these regulators with the new PTN series (like PTN78020W, PTN 78060W, and companions). Everything goes very well technically speaking. The issue is only based on the customer who claims that this new component is perhaps not as reliable as the previous, and that we must investigate with TI in order to obtain relevant information about the reliability, as well as possible references of use by existing customer of TI.
Regarding your answer, I understand you that the PTx alone has not been certified to NEBS requirements (NEBS is for system certifications), but what we urgently need is to receive copies of the report of qualification tests (even internal IT) to confirm definitively that this component is excellent. There are millions of dollars at stake, as well as several thousands of new PTx components per year.
I would add that, since we are in the vital area of communications (as well in military domain), we make our process of soldering with a conventional tin-lead alloy. (The so-called backward process).
We would very appreciate your collaboration in this matter. Thanks in advance.

Inorder to send you the qualification documents, can you send me an E-mail along with the module part numbers?
