I have designed power section for my application in which:
Vin: 12V @ 1A
Vout: 5V
POwer Module : PTH08T241
Input Cap: 220uF polar cap
output Cap: 300 uF ceramic cap
No TT is used
My problem is that the Power Module (PTH08T241) inductor coil heat up but the output is good. Is coil heating is normal or is there any problem?
PTH08T241, PTH08T240 series with input voltage is 12V 1A.,and 5V0at 0-5Amps, the average inductor temperature in a bench no air flow environment is70°C to 80°. The published thermal data (SOA) data.
The thermal ; data for 5V0 is attached. the no air flow maximum operating ambient temperature at 4 Amp load is 80°C when soldered into 100mm x100mm copper plane.
