PTH08T221WAS and PTH05010WAS thermal request

Hello:

A customer is planning to use the  PTH08T221WAS and PTH05010WAS in a new design and the plug in modules will be completely cooled by conduction.  Can you provide insight as to which devices on these modules are more sensitive to a +85 degrees C with no cooling other then conduction?  Also, are there any thermals you can provide for those components?  Perhaps power dissapation data of those more sensitive components?  The mechanical engineers are requesting this data for heat sinking needs.

Thank you,

  • Frank:

The PTH08T221WAS and PTH05010WAS  are limited to the 85°C maximum ambient temperature  limit  as determined by the published thermal  (SOA) data in the product specification. The published SOA data limits are based upon input voltage, output voltage , output current and air flow. The 85C ambient temperature  limit  is absolute  when considering power dissipation.

Can you send me your contact information  so this thermal  application can be discussed in more detail.
