I have a single DC Power source, 0-60V, 35A. I need to generate 5V/20A, 3.3V/25A, and 1.0V/25A.
Where should I start?
There are three module with12Vin which will meet your requirements
12Vin and 5Vout at up to 20A=PTH08T255WAx up to 40A
12Vin toi 3.3Vout at 25A= PTH08T210WAx up to 30A
12Vin to 1.0Vout at 25A= PTH08T210WAx up to 30A
All power modules have adjustable output voltages.
The above was my plan A. Plan B requires me to switch 5V to four circuits and 3.3V to the same four circuts (the 1.0V is not included in plan B). So rather than a single hi-power converter, I've been looking at lower power converters with separate enables and integrated switches.
12V in and 5V out at 4-6A
12V in and 3.3V out 10-14A
My preferences, in order are:
1. A single PTH module that will work for both 5V and 3.3V (I understand that I will need different resistor values to set Vout)
2. Two PTH modules
3. A common Converter that will work for both 5V and 3.3V
Does TI have a service that will build PTH modules for me?
TI has two modules which will meet your requirements. You did not mention the ambient temperatures or air flow in this application.
A. 12V in and 5V out at 4-6A
1.PTH08T230WAx up to 6 amp module for 5Vout with 100LFM air flow and 85°C at 6amp. If the output current is 5 amp no air flow , then maximum ambient no airflow temperature is 85°C.
B. 12V in and 3.3V out 10-14A
1 PTH08T220W rated up to to 16 amps at 3V3 at 35°C ambient temperature no air flow.
If the output current is 10 amps no air flow, then maximum ambient temperature is 70°C no air flow.
2. PTH08T210W rated up to 30 Amps. 16A Amp load with no air flow, the maximum ambient temperature 75°C.
Note we have no dual PTH power modules.
