PTH08T250W smart sync

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PTH08T250W

Hi,

i would like to use the smart sync feature with a frequencie of 250kHz. The Clock is present before the inhibit control is released. But i am not sure what will happen, if the clock fails while the Module runs?
Will it run nevertheless but just without synchronisation?

  • The smart sync. feature if used, requires the external sync. frequency to be present befroe power is applied.

In your application, the  unit is inhibited when the external sync. is applied is the correct method for using  external sync. function.

If the external sync.  frequency fails or changes by more than 10kHz frequency, the sync. pin must be grounded  to insure the internal sync. controls the module.

The module can be unstable  if the sync. pin is allowed to float and is not grounded

  • Thank you for your answer. Another small question:

Does the smartsync work with the rising oder the falling edge?

  • Hi Lars:

The PTH08T250W smart sync. input  responds to the rising edge of the external sync. pulse. The minimum  pulse width is 200ns.

    1. Requirement  on applied External Sync. The external synchronization frequency  must be present before  a valid  input voltage is present, or  before release of the track or inhibit pin.

    Regards
