PTH08T Series Conformal Coating?

Hello TI E2E,

    Are there any detrimental effects of conformal coating the PTH08T series of power modules?  We've got several modules (250W, 240F, 240W, 230W, 220W) on several PCB's, where conformal coating is under consideration and therefore, need to know if these modules should/must be excluded from conformal coating.

    Hi John:

    The modules are very difficult to conformal coat. The under side components after they are soldered onto the final assembly cannot reliability  be conformal coated. All  Excessive moisture must be baked out  before any  conformal coating is applied.
