PTH08T250EAD module Color issue

Hi,

I am working at iWave Systems. In our one of the boards we are using PTH08T250WAD module. We have assembled total 24 modules in 12 boards (2 per board), in 2 separate batches. In the first batch we assembled 4 modules of PTH08T250WAD, which has transformers of Blue in color. And in the next batch we assembled 20 modules of PTH08T250WAD, which has transformers of Black in color.

So my question is, will there be any difference in the electrical characteristics or parameters of the two modules (Blue and Black) ?

Note: Both the modules have same top markings/part number marking. This change in color of Transformer causes any difference in the characteristics?

Please help me in clarifying this issue.

Regards,
Nanjunda M

  • Nanjunda:

    1. The inductor color outside change , same part number (06883), does not affect inductor form fit or function. It only changes the outside color.

The power modules including the PTH08T250Wxx have always been fully qualified and  approved for dual source power inductors.

The mechanical and electrical characteristics are equal when using either color  inductor.

This will be a permanent change , but there may be units still in distributor inventory with the gray color.

Thank you for clarifying my doubt.
