Decoupling capacitors mentioned in LMZ31530 enough to drive the 0.9V Core Voltage for Arria 10 FPGA.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMZ31530

Hi All,

We are using LMZ31530 Power Module to generate the Core Voltage for Arria 10 FPGA, the decoupling capacitors mentioned by you in the datasheet of LMZ31530. Is it sufficient to meet the Target Impedance of FPGA or do we need to consider any other additional considerations ?

Regards,

  • Yes, the LMZ31530 was designed to power high current core rails. It most cases the 500uF of ceramic will be enough output capacitance; however, additional capacitance many be required depending on the FPGA demands. See table 4 in the LMZ31530 datasheet for transient response and output capacitance.
