It seems there is an error in the drawing of the datasheet PTH04T221W for proposed pcb layout. I think the distance between the keepout and pin 9 should be 80mil instead of 60 mil. it makes no sense to be at 60 mil because it is the same distance from side of package to pin 9. wich doesnt make a keepout on this side and a keepout of 100mil from pin 3... please advise

Hi Caroline,

I think your post should be in the power modules forum, I will move it and one of my colleagues will pick it up there.

It would help if you could explain why you are concerned about the keepout distances.

Peter:

The primary purpose of the keep out area is not populate any external. user components inside this area. The actual clearance to any module underside component is minimum 0.010 . Do not place any external components within the designated keep out area.

I know what is the purpose of the keepout area. I was only pointing that there is an error in the drawing in the PDF of this part. And that it should be modified.

Caroline:

Normally most host PCBs have copper plating/ landing pads on the both the top side and bottom side plating. The normal PCB layout will always keep components and non- related adjacent copper plating gaps.
