I am designing the LMZ12001 and need a library file for ORCAD.
None is referenced on the web.
Is there any library file, any format, available?
Can one be created for ORCAD?

Sure, one can be created if you submit the request to the team that generates footprints and symbols.  I don't have the link handy, but there are a couple of dozen forum posts that contain the link to the team that performs this function.

    Ed,

What type of file are you looking for? We have footprint libraries for Altium and gerber files.

If you need sim models, they would have to be developed.

    They wanted ORCAD files.
Is there a place these layout files are stored in the National database so we can access them without asking?
The customer has since made his own and proceeded.

    Hi Ed,

For any layout files, gerber or Altium, the best is to contact the product line apps engineer directly.

Many products also have the files available on the product website under reference designs:

    http://www.national.com/rd/RDhtml/RD-182.html

This page has the CAD files for the LMZ12001 board.

    Regards,

    Allan

One final question, what format are these ZIP files in?
    .OutJob
    .PcbDoc
    .PrjPCB
    .PrjPCBStructure
    .SchDoc

    .zip\LMZ12003_Demo.zip

    Ed,

These are all Altium files. The gerber files are located in the project output folder.

    Regards,

    Allan

    Hello

The following url can be used to download schematic symbols for part numbers that start in LM:

    www.national.com/cad/cad.cgi?partno=LMxxxx

Where xxxx is the rest of the part number.  For example if you want top look up the LMZ14201 you would enter the following

    http://www.national.com/cad/cad.cgi?partno=LMZ14201

If you want to look up the LMZ12001 you would enter the following

    http://www.national.com/cad/cad.cgi?partno=LMZ12001

There is software called Ultra Librarian on this webpage that can convert the schematic into the correct form for several common cad tools such as Orcad and Altium.

The instructions are provided on the website.

    Regards,

Orcad Cadence LM* Schematic Symbols Altium footprint
