LMZ12003/Change Cff value

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMZ12003

Hi all.

Would you mind if we ask about LMZ12003?

There is only the description of Cff=0.022uF in the data sheet of LMZ12003.
Can we change to another value like 0.1uF?

Also if we can change the value of Cff, should we need to change the value of RFBT,RFBB,RON?
Please tell us their value if we need to change.
Our costomer uses LMZ12003 at Vin=12,Vout=5V,Iout=2A.

We need you help.

KInd regards.

  • Hello,

Increasing the value of Cff too much can lead to instabilities. The Cff is used to inject a ripple back at the FB node and if the ripple increases by too much it might cause problems. Is there a specific reason why the customer needs to change the Cff? You could also use Webench or the downloadable PSPICE model to check the effects of the increased Cff on the design.

And if you do change the Cff, you do not necessarily need to change the feedback resistors and/or the Ron resistor.

    Regards,
