I'm designing a battery powered application where the input voltage will be between 5.5V and 14V.
Can I use the LMZ12003 to generate a stable 5V or will I need a higher input voltage?
Thanks!
Frank

Hello Frank,
At 5.5Vin you will not be able to get 5Vout at full load. You will get close at light load. The part will reach maximum duty cycle. The dropout voltage really depends on the switching frequency you pick and your load current. Lower frequency is better. Lower current is also better.
I am attaching a quick spreadsheet calculator to give you an idea. You can use it to estimate the drop out voltage.
