LM2594HV-ADJ NC pins

I am designing a 10V power supply using your LM2594HV-ADJ IC.

As mentioned in the datasheet, pin 5 has a !ON/OFF function and pins 1, 2 and 3 are not connected.

But in the 'typical PCB layout' for an adjustable output, in the same datasheet, pins 1 and 2 are connected to ground, pin 3 is connected to the Feedback line and the !ON/OFF pin, pin 5, is left floating.

So my question is, what do I do with these four pins?

Thank you in advance for the trouble to be taken.

  • Hello,
I believe you should follow the figure 42 in the datasheet that shows the layout for an adjustable voltage option device. Also, as per the datasheet, the ON/OFF pin when left floating behaves the same as when grounded. There should be a weak pull down to ground inside the IC and this will cause the part to be ON. But if you do not intend to use the ON/OFF pin much, then as the datasheet suggests, you might as well ground it. I hope this helps.

    Regards,
