Dear All,

I need more than the 5amps which gives the IC LM2678. I would like to as if i could put some of them for example 4 in parallel to increase the output current.

Is that possible?

How much current do you need and what are your input and output specs?

You cannot parallel any regulator that doesn't have a current share feature. The small mismatches in regulation voltage will cause one regulator to work harder than the other and it is very likely that one regulator could get overloaded and take the whole rail down.

Dear Mr. Anston

the specs are :

Input 24 volt

Output 1: 12volt 10 - 12 amps

Output 2: 13.8 volt - 10 amps as SLA battery charger.

So could you propose me some other IC which could achieve those specs?

Have you looked at our power module series? LMZ23610 can be paralleled to meet your voltage and input current needs.

If you are looking only for a regulator type solution, your best bet is a controller with external FET's. Simple reason, 10A is way too much power for a regulator with internal FET's without synchronous technology.

The Ic you propose to me it does not have output of 12 or 13,8volts. Only 6. I could not use it.

Apologies for missing your Vout spec. The only solutions I can find revolve around using a controller to accomplish this. I would suggest the LM5119 which is a dual output controller.
